Through play and fun you can build expressive, receptive and spontaneous language 🎯🌟#newyork #speech #occupacionaltherapy
🏃‍♂️Obstacle courses are a great way to work on following multi-step directions while working on gross motor, fine motor, and sensory processing skills! ✨💪 Strengthen shoulders and core muscles with wheelbarrow walks to assist in improved fine motor coordination during tasks such as handwriting. They are a great way to start a session because they also provide proprioceptive input through “heavy work,” which improves attention during tabletop tasks! The cones and rings were added to improve following directions and to provide a visual start and end point! Here we used the tunnel as step 2 to improve sequencing and encourage active participation through a preferred task. Tunnels promote bilateral coordination and forearm weight-bearing for improved upper extremity strength and stability! We ❤️ obstacle courses! ✨#obstaclecourse #speechpathology #occupationaltherapy #newyork
