Ava attended SUNY Oneonta, where she earned her Bachelors of Science degree in Exercise Science, and went on to receive her Masters of Science in Occupational Therapy from SUNY Downstate. Ava has experience working in a variety of settings including outpatient and inpatient rehabilitation, mental health, acute care, pediatric sensory gym, and hospitals. Additionally, she completed a Fieldwork experience in an elementary school with the NYC Department of Education. During her time in her masters program, Ava served as the Creative Director for her Student Occupational Therapy Association (SOTA). Ava incorporates play-centered techniques to build strong connections with children and support them in achieving their goals through enjoyable and purposeful activities. She recognizes that each child has their own strengths and needs, and partners with families to help ensure that progress made in therapy is reflected at home and in daily routines. Ava is very excited to begin her pediatric occupational therapy journey and join the Sensory Studio team!
