Brianna Somma OTR/L

Occupational Therapist

Brianna earned her Master of Science in Occupational Therapy from Kean University, where she gained valuable experience in diverse clinical settings. During her training, she completed rotations at Staten Island University Hospital and Kessler Rehabilitation, working with both children and adults to help them overcome challenges and reach their full potential. These experiences reinforced her belief in the transformative power of occupational therapy.

Brianna’s journey with The Sensory Studio began in 2020, as a member of the front desk team. Now, she is thrilled to come back as a provider to continue to work alongside families to help their children grow and thrive. The Sensory Studio’s mission and values have always resonated with her, even during her undergraduate years, inspiring her dedication to pediatric rehabilitation and holistic family support.

With a warm and playful approach, Brianna uses play-based interventions to connect with children and empower them to reach their goals in a way that feels fun and meaningful. She understands that every child is unique and works closely with families to ensure that the skills developed in therapy carry over into their daily lives. She is passionate about equipping caregivers with tools and strategies to support their child’s progress beyond the therapy room.

Brianna believes in the importance of collaboration, recognizing parents and caregivers as the heart of a child’s care team. Her experience includes a 12-week caregiver and young child family support program, where she witnessed the profound impact of working hand-in-hand with families. She is also a contributing author on a pediatric research study to be published and presented at the upcoming American Occupational Therapy Association Conference in 2025.

For Brianna, occupational therapy is a calling to help children and families discover their unique strengths and navigate challenges with hope and confidence. She is honored to play a role in helping every child become their best, brightest self.
